Lately they spread some info about Lightning Labs participation on WEF. This is a smearing campaign. maybe LN Labs doesn't even know they were posted there. Also LN Labs is just a company, but the LND code is open source. Dump the company, not the code.
WEF started the full war against Bitcoin, mixing false information, creating panic, confusion, fear, uncertainty.
This is very clear explained in the book by Ed Bernays - Propaganada (pdf here)
And will come more soon, you will see. This is just the beginning. Stay put. Buy the dips. Eat popcorns. Let the NPC to eat each others.
Ignore all the fucking shit that comes from WEF. Write BTC code, mine BTC, run a BTC node, hodl BTC and don't give a shit about all the noise. Is just fucking noise to put you in state of fear.
DISCLAIMER: Many years ago I lived my first 20 years in pure totalitarian communist regime. I know very well how this propaganda works. I was lucky that my family helped me to be a freedom fighter all my life. I never bend the knee in front of tyranny.
When I see all this shit coming out, for me is very easy to see that is a huge media campaign, a propaganda to hit hard Bitccoin.

A little while back, people started pointing out links between the WEF and the ETH Foundation. People didn't like them being so close. They might be trying to make the LN look bad. Or maybe just a "we love bitcoin, buy our shitcoin." Stark said their logo was used without her or Lightning Labs permission.

they gave us some random award, literally unprompted, zero prior comms
no one at Lightning Labs works with, nor is affiliation with the WEF
after seeing all the uproar about this, seems all the WEF needs to do in order to sow discord in the community update their website?

To be clear I knew they put us on a list (kinda like how magazines create lists), but didn't know about the partner thing until today.
I spoke at a conference in Switzerland once that doesn't actually appear to be a WEF partner event but nice try. 🙃
Hilariously I am no fan of WEF either. But wouldn't it be useful to sow discord in communities by making false accusations? 🤔🤔🤔

It seems that the WEF is an affinity scam - uses logoss of well known and liked companies to pretend they are associated with the WEF when that simply isn’t the case. Thanks to @starkness for clearing it up.

Bitcoin takes power away from the state which is why the WEF attacks it
