Today I learnt that shell treats numbers as octal: $((10#$2)) vs $(($2)) when my second argument was 08, completely messing up a script. I only noticed it two weeks into the calculation. fml

The computer cluster has ;) Doing a lot of HPC these days.
Not as much as a few years back, though; at the time, I was running jobs on 10,000 CPUs in parallel.

Nick Bostrom theory is wrong by principle. It's a projection, not a simulation.
