All national leagues have commenced. Still very early to see a trend though Real Madrid , Barça, Arsenal, Liverpool are undefeated and have not lost any points. PSG also counts matches as wins.
Premier League
Liverpool and Newcastle played on Monday night to close week 2. The Reds, thanks to 16 year-old Rio Ngumoha, won the match at 10 minutes of added time in the second half. Newcastle was able to come from behind to equalize a match that they were losing 0-2 at 46 minutes of play. Ekitike scored again for Liverpool. Chelsea and Arsenal both scored 5 goals to beat West Ham and Leeds respectively. Gyökeres, recent Arsenal’s signing, scored twice to add his first goals in the UK. Finally, Man City and Tottenham disputed the other Clash between Champions League teams. Spurs defeated 0-2 Citizens and it seems that Guardiola’s team is still struggling.
La Liga
Easy games for Villarreal and Real Madrid this week. They beat 5-0 and 0-3 to Girona and Oviedo, respectively. Mbappé scored twice and Vinicius, who only played 30 minutes, scored the third and assisted Mbappé to score his second goal. The Brazilian had enough time to get a yellow card and to cause some trouble to local fans who were angry after making signs that means relegation for Oviedo.
Barça won the match against recently promoted Levante at the added time. Athletic Bilbao added a back to back win against Rayo Vallecano. Atletico completed another weak performance drawing 1-1 against recently promoted Elche.
Bundesliga
Bayern completed an impressive display on Friday against RB Leipzig, beating them 6-0 with a hat trick by Harry Kane. Luis Diaz, recently signed from Liverpool, scored his first goal in Germany. Eintracht was not far from Bayern’s performance as they beat 4-1 Werder Bremen. Dortmund only could draw 3-3 against St Pauli, who managed to equalize the match after Borussia had a player sent off at 85 minutes. They scored twice in the last minutes of the game. Bayer Leverkusen commenced the league losing against Hoffenheim (1-2), first match after Xabi Alonso’s depart to train Real Madrid.
Serie A
Week 1 in serie A with a stunning win by Inter Milan against Torino. Napoli and Juventus followed them, beating Sassuolo 0-2 and Parma 2-0, respectively. Atalanta only could draw 1-1 against Pisa, who recently promoted to Serie A.
Ligue 1
PSG got a back to back win in week 2, against Angers, to remain at the top of French League. Marseille recovered from losing the first game, beating Paris FC 5-2. Finally, Monaco lost the match against Lille.
Elsewhere
Sporting Lisbon remains at the top of the Portuguese League after beating Madeira’s Nacional 1-4. PSV and Ajax won their matches at Eredivisie’s week 3.
