This is horrifying. As someone who's not that tall, I'd never even consider this (though I did fondly enjoy the Brady Bunch episode as a kid where Bobby tries to get taller by hanging upside down).

I’ve seen photos online of some more extreme ones and everyone always points out that then the arms look disproportionately short

What's more horrifying and depressing are parents injecting their kids with growth hormones for the sole purpose of potentially increasing their height, even when they are perfectly healthy otherwise.

Haven’t heard about that - I thought that was niche for kids who are like <3rd percentile for height
