Intro
In my opinion I believe Bitcoin is the future and I believe Bitcoin will be more widely used as time goes on. This process is being sped up because of the implementation of the Lightning Network, a protocol BUILT on to the blockchain to speed up transactions with ridiculously cheap gas fees.
But I don't think Bitcoin is there yet.
Look I'm here for Bitcoin but currently in the making of the post, Bitcoin is $16538. Sure, that is better than most altcoins, but it's not looking good considering it peaked at the high price of 60-70k at around 2021. Also I don't think Bitcoin will be suitable for mass adoption at the moment because:
1.) Right now, the general population thinks Bitcoin is a 'fad', and will eventually die out and won't be of many importance.
2.) Because of the volatility of Bitcoin, people are unsure whether they want to invest money into Bitcoin or use Bitcoin as actual cash
3.) Crypto scams and shitcoins are everywhere and some people might associate those shitcoins with Bitcoin because Bitcoin is also a crypto
Obviously BTC is making progress, as countries like El Salvador and Japan and the Central African Republic has accepted Bitcoin as LEGAL TENDER.
If we want BTC to be the future, first we need to convince and educate the public about Bitcoin and the Lightning Network and try and clear all misconceptions about Bitcoin.
