They heavily try to get American Jews to visit and move to Israel through birthright and apparently ad targeting. If you're of military age and eligible for citizenship, you would then be obligated to serve, so maybe that's how it's positioned rather than military recruitment. Hard to believe there's many people who would be interested in doing that right now though... It doesn't seem like mercenaries would come in
Given the number of Jews in the U.S., that's a pretty small number, and they could probably get to that target.
