Honestly, ChatGPT will probably be useful for some things, but it probably won't ever replace search or be as revolutionary as people think

I'm not sure how it would replace a search engine like Google. To just return a single, accurate result, does it analyze all, has already analyzed all the webpages in it's GPT database to understand the best answer? Sometimes I still like to browse and cite multiple sources.

"Okay ChatGPT, write a Twitter thread about how ChatGPT and Bitcoin will disrupt Google Search."
This is as cogent as saying that ELIZA, a chat bot from the late 60s, will revolutionize searching the internet if we just paid poor people to write rules for ELIZA. Anyone who knows how ELIZA works will know why that is nonsense.

"They need this" is a terrible argument for mass adoption when history has shown it to be false.
If that were true then there either wouldn't be any large scale global vc funded companies or bitcoin would have been adopted by now. It won't be because of some internet scraper that knows how to form sentences.

Honestly I can’t see how Bitcoin fits in, other than in pure hopium fantasies. They’ll just use fiat and/or centralized shit tokens.

I'm loving ChatGPT. Been using it for work to help get through some menial tasks and it's just opened up my time by a lot.

Any examples you would like to share?
reply
Sure.
(1) Needed to do some demographic research for marketing and get it provide a bullet point of the specifics.
(2) Needed to create a workflow for creating graphics to share with a new member of the team and got ChatGPT to create a couple of drafts that I then tweaked and shared.
Thought it was handy.
