I've played around with it.
It's oftentimes incredibly useful, yet at other times "not quite there". Maybe it's me not knowing how to tease the information I am looking for. For instance, it responded to a question of mine with some potential use cases for something. Then I asked it to cite references or links to papers on that ... and it totally fabricated them ... for both the titles, and links.
As far as for use in education, ChatGPT will certainly be useful. Just like how Wikipedia is useful for education. Wikipedia doesn't provide all the information, and sometimes it does not even provide true, accurate and unbiased information ... but I can become more learned with Wikipedia existing than if it did not exist. I see the same for ChatGPT.
