I've been following the saga of Cracker Barrel with morbid fascination. This looks like a company suicide in slow motion.
The more cynical part of me thinks that maybe the CEO are her buddies are basically just raiding the company's assets and living it up before the company inevitably folds.

They're known as an old timey theme restaurant on road stops, but recently they've been rebranding and getting rid of that entire old-time theme, leaving some people to question what the value prop is if they get rid of their entire identity.

The interiors used to look like this, but I heard the new ones just look like generic modern restaurant:
