Pool Zap test instructions:
  • Register an account (do not try lightning login it is not working yet) with a username and password
  • From homepage scroll to active pools or click join pools in the header
  • Stacker Sports Test Pick Em is the pool you want
  • Click join pool or view and then join pool when it takes you to the pool details page
  • Once you click join it will prompt to generate a lightning invoice. Lightning payments aren't functional yet so just click create and then pay with wallet.
  • Once you are in the pool you should be able to pick the winners by clicking on the teams you want for 3 NFL preseason games happening this Saturday and input a tiebreaker for the final game. Once you have selected 3 winners and a tiebreaker click submit all picks.
  • Your picks and tiebreaker should be entered at this point and I should be able to see them on the pool admin dashboard.
Thanks for testing this. Let me know if you run into any issues or if you notice anything that doesn't seems right. I was having an issue with the prize distribution and UI not displaying consistently across all users but seems ok now after multiple tests with current and new registered users. But let me know.
I also see this Started Invalid Date in the upper right.
It also seems to let me submit without a tiebreaker? Maybe we want to allow that.
Sorry if this is too granular of feedback.
reply
I think the invalid date is because I created it as a custom event since it only built out options for regular season, playoffs and superbowl. I will have to look into that.
reply
The hamburger menu in the upper right when your screen is small doesn't work
reply
Noted. Are you on mobile? I haven't even looked at it on mobile.
reply
No, a laptop, but I have the window split in half so it's narrow.
reply
Ok. thanks for heads up.
reply
This is definitely like reviewing a junior engineers work lol
reply
Oh I am sure you can find a ton of things wrong. I noticed the number of participants and prize pool are not changing on the homepage but they are updating properly on the pool details page. It was a major pain in the ass to get it to get past it's default prize distribution. It wanted everything to be 50% for 1st 30% for 2nd and 20% for 3rd and I kept getting it to change it but every time a different user logged in or I registered a new user it defaulted back to its default prize distribution.
But still all things considered it is pretty crazy I was unable to get this far just by prompting the AI over the past 4 days. I have probably worked at this for about 10 hours or so.
reply
Ah I also see prize distribution is not increasing on the pool details page either. It is showing 6k in the pool details but 2k in the prize distribution underneath which is what is happening on the main page too. Glad we are doing this test pool so I can catch all this stuff.
I don't know how you guys manage to keep track of everything you need to review and test. Holy cow my head was spinning trying to think of all the things I had to check and every which way to check it and I was just looking at functionality not actual review of the code. I suppose it is just something you get used to doing.
reply
You tend to develop instinct for where things can go wrong. And you build automated tests to check things for you repeatedly over time
Is this just based on the order in which picks were submitted?
reply
No I asked it to rank based on who it predicts is most handsome.
Haha. Yes that is just the order of entries for now. Leaderboard isn't really a feature we need for this contest but it will be handy for others. I didn't want to confuse it by telling it to take leaderboard out of pick 'ems.
reply
Lightning login doesn't work.
I was able to join the pool repeatedly. You probably want that to switch off and stop generating invoices. Then again, why not let dummies like me pay several times.
In settings, it says email is my auth type.
This seems like it'll work really well for the pick'ems, too.
reply
Sir. I said lightning login doesn't work yet.
"Register an account (do not try lightning login it is not working yet) with a username and password"
I noticed that issue about it generating repeated lightning invoices if you keep trying to join the pool. It should give an message saying "you have already joined this pool". I haven't gotten that far yet but thanks for the heads up. I have a few other notes for the next version as well.
Originally it built the user authentication system as email based and lightning login (again, not working yet) but today I told it to switch from email to just username and password. We don't need to (or want to) authenticate emails if there are no sats transacting.

Just joined! However I have not paid. When I clicked on create, I joined the pool. Is that right ?
reply
No payments yet. It will let you in as if you have paid.

Now , I have managed to submit a second set of picks
reply
That's ok. Your most recent set of picks will appear first in my dashboard. Eventually the teams you pick will stay highlighted until the deadline so you can change it as many times as you like.
reply
The functionality as you mentioned is working. I want the teams wee pick in should indicate (lock in to show what's picked), something like the pick should turn dark.
reply
Agreed. It does give you a notification that the selection has been made but it should make it more clear.
I see your picks and I see 3/6 participants in the pool details page but not updated on the homepage. It is still showing 2/6 so I have to make note of that.
It also allowed me to switch my picks which was great but it just showed them as a separate entry in the admin dashboard instead of overriding my original picks. So I have to make note of that too.

Reporting on duty, sir.
