That I also talk about in my article experimenting with LN node fees (even before Rene published his article), where I got the same conclusion: a use of min/max HTLC system to open/close valves of your LN channels is much efficient than excessive rebalancing and excessive use of high fees.
Heard about this in 2019, so happy its coming together. As reliabilitiy increases, splitting bigger payments into less-funded, less-traveled and less-survelied pleb channels will help us take a well-needed step towards decentralization of the second layer.
