Hello, Bitcoin community.
A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of meeting with @Car — CEO and CoFounder of PlebLab. An incredible person, no doubt. His advice at this early stage was key to accelerating our development and bringing ZatoBox #1064780 to the real world faster than we had planned.

🧭 Where we stand now

That conversation was the catalyst. Although we had been building in the background, these past weeks have been a period of intense execution. Today, we can say we’ve accomplished:
  • Team expansion: we brought in key members full-time for technical development and marketing, strengthening our core.
  • Backend rebuilt from scratch: with Python, FastAPI, and Flask. What we had before worked locally as a hackathon demo, but wasn’t scalable. Now we’re building a modular architecture ready for the real world.
  • Started dockerization: we already have a first test version running.
  • Validated with real merchants: we went out and talked to our first users in Ecuador, learning about their real pain points: inventory management, marketing, and customer communication via WhatsApp (more details in the video).
  • Analyzed the global market: using tools like BTC Maps, we identified the types of businesses already adopting Bitcoin and where to focus our efforts.

🔭 What’s next (ETA: next 15 days)

We managed to fast-forward 2 months’ worth of work into 15 days. The product is already 80% usable. Next steps:
  • Finalize dockerization, enabling payment gateways, OCR, and fixing existing bugs.
  • Open ZatoBox channels to start receiving direct feedback.
  • Begin shaping our marketing strategy and building the first “sales” funnel (focused on getting users for feedback).
  • Define and verticalize a specific product for launch (currently under discussion).

🤝 Open call to collaborators

ZatoBox was born open source — by design, not by convenience.
We believe in building public infrastructure for private businesses. Technology that respects ownership, sovereignty, and simplicity.
We’re looking for contributors to help us build:
  • Backend and frontend developers (Python / FastAPI / React)
  • UX/UI designers
  • Product thinkers & system architects
  • Bitcoiners who understand real-world adoption
  • Creators and community organizers
👉 If you care about local commerce, sovereignty, and building tools that work for people, we’d love to hear from you.

🎯 Our mission remains unchanged

Empower 50,000 small businesses in 5 years,
without banks, intermediaries, or vendor lock-in.
ZatoBox is a toolset for real merchants. We want any entrepreneur — even non-technical ones — to be able to set up a store, accept Bitcoin, sync inventory, and grow their business... in minutes.
The beta isn’t public yet, but it won’t be long.
(Hint: if you guess our website’s URL, you might get a sneak peek 👀).
