Funny and good at hugging is sound advice. Need to be a bit more than that but it's a great start.
I do think it is a great time to be a dad. I recall a former business partner of mine who is around 25 years older than me saying when his kids were young he barely saw them. They went to school, his wife took care of everything for them and he focused on business and going out with the guys. He said in the summer his wife and kids would go up to the cottage all summer and he would stay in the city and work and then go up the last two weeks of August. He had a great relationship with his kids as adults but I feel like he was implying he missed a lot and regretted it.
