I was enjoying the particularly active discussion on @chebibu's post (#1085055) when I noticed a new addition at the top of the screen:
I had noticed this little dot a few times now (even though I managed not to read SN's most recent release notes (#1081488) very carefully), but this time round I did something new: I tapped the blue dot.
I was immediately taken to the first unread comment on the post.

Each time you tap it, it takes you to the next unread comment. This is excellent! Much easier than scanning for newly appeared live comments and much much easier than trying to deal with new comments via my notifications.
As you view the unread comments, you'll notice the number next to the blue dot decreases. So far, I'm finding this very helpful in navigating comments. You can find @sox's notes about live comments here (#1081488) and the original release notes for live comments here (#1072794).
I love it myself! It’s so satisfying to the point I’m happy when I revisit a post and there are new comments lol
I think this is going to be a defining part of the SN experience. Soon it'll be hard to remember life before the blue dot.

Love how SN turned a small blue dot into a smart shortcut to jump straight to unread comments. This is brilliant. I think maybe pair it with a subtle tooltip or visual hint for first-timers who haven’t noticed it yet.

This is the coolest feature, apart from my personal favourite guns and horses ofcourse. I believe this marks the transition for SN.

I can't see the blue dot. Is it something in tests?
It should only show up when you have comments that you haven't read.
So, if you are on the home page, and one of the posts that you've already looked at, gets a comment, you'll notice that a small blue dot appears next to the number of comments. If you view the post again, the blue dot will appear near the notifications bell and you can use it to navigate between unread comments.
