@grayruby @Undisciplined just listening to the pod. Some rough thoughts on the app idea ya’lol we’re discussing:
  • I think it would be a lot easier to build out survivor pool functionality initially. Less variables with only needing to know schedule and who each participant picks.
  • survivor pool functionality plus lightning functionality to capture buy ins and do payouts could lay the foundation to apply to various other sports and contests
  • getting lightning payment/ buy ins solved could be leveraged for any type of contest
  • fantasy functionality has a lot of variables. Hundreds of players, dynamic scoring, trades, free agency, draft etc. Probably a lot more effort to build a product that can approach UX of sleeper / espn. Imo it could line up better to build out the app in phases

Good thoughts. I definitely think the initial pools will be very basic and more so just to do the admin work of participants, buy ins, picks etc rather than being a fully functional app with all the features of sleeper. I have been working on this with the Replit AI all day. Starting to get somewhere.

Did you drop $25 for the unlimited agent access?

No 15 a month

Looking good. Yea I think solving for admin and manual tracking of contests is definitely best initial use case. Can build up functionality afterwards

I had the same thought about survivor first. Similarly, you could start with very simplified fantasy teams: i.e. just drafting a team and scoring the games without trades or waivers.

We will see how we progress before this years survivor pool. Hopefully at very least our robot army can have something that people can log into and make their picks even if payments aren’t ready or trustworthy yet.
