For me, this below.

Yeah, it's a semi automatic washing machine my father purchased a decade ago when I was away working.

I hate it, not because it's old but because the noise, kinda clatter it often produces while the washer runs. My father like most other Indians love to use things until they are completely junk. I suggested and tried to get a new automatic one but he didn't let me for reasons like "waste of money".

I'm planning to break this vintage machine down intentionally but secretly to get a new one, may be very soon.

Having to go pee

reply

I hope you ain't diabetic. I have a uncle who has it and peeing is always like most urgent and frequent for him. He looks healthy but he isn't.

reply

I’m not but pissing is still annoying

reply

Good to hear you aren't.

I think you need to see how much the South East Asian countries enjoyed peeing, especially India before 10 years.

*There were only open peeing cabins at almost every bus depot in India or other public places.

The irony is that the law here says ...

In India, while there isn't a specific law directly criminalizing public urination, it is generally considered a public nuisance and can be penalized. Various local and state laws, particularly those related to public nuisance and hygiene, can be applied, often resulting in fines.

The finest are just 100 to 500 rupees ($1.1 to $6), but nowadays people have grown up and not letting others pee in public. Even those open washrooms have got covered and made world class now..

I've to give credit to Modi all this transformation here. He actually made people aware that they have to change to bring the change.

This is crazy! Was it only men who did this?

reply

Women as well but that used to be mostly behind the bushes! 😂

As a kid I also used to do it anywhere because we had many hectares of Babool (an Indian tree that has big thorns) and paddy fields all around. What I mean that we grew up around a farm house in rural India and we also had toilets ever since I remember.

It's a biggie. But maybe small for you there.

If it ain’t broke, break it

I find folding laundry and unloading the dishwasher annoying

It’s the last step in a long chore that’s just killer

reply

I'll break it. But I need a foolproof plan to not get caught. Apart from me noone's got a problem with the machine in the family.

finding and procuring good quality food in places i stay at (I'm somewhat nomadish)

reply

Trying to fit all our groceries in our too small fridge. Just haven’t been able to justify buying a larger one since this one isn’t broken. I also fixed it once..

Could you put it on something (foam?) to make it less noisy? If your family finds out that you sabotaged it could cause serious repercussions.

I just got rid of a small, everyday annoyance. I put a piece of masking tape next to the spot on my laptop where my charger plugs in. This is to make it visually easier to find the spot, and plug into it, otherwise it's not visible unless I lift it up, and look from the side.

Now I can easily plug it in.
