You don’t need to eat perfect to be healthy.
If you’re sleeping well, moving your body, and eating mostly whole, nutrient-dense foods — a little bit of seed oil in an otherwise good choice isn’t going to ruin your progress.
The real harm comes from a lifestyle full of ultra-processed food, no movement, poor sleep, and chronic stress.
Focus on the big rocks: 🍳 Cook most of your meals at home 🥩 Prioritize protein and micronutrients 🏋🏽‍♂️ Strength train 2–4x/week 🚶🏽‍♂️ Stay active daily 💤 Get quality sleep 💧 Stay hydrated and replenish electrolytes — if you’re training hard, you’re sweating, and if you’re hydrated, you’re urinating. Use electrolyte packets or season your food to keep your body in balance.
Make smart swaps where you can, but don’t let food fear keep you from living your life.
Better choices > perfect actions that aren’t sustainable.

My basic heuristic is whether my food is something similar to what my ancestors encountered in nature.
A benefit of healthy eating habits is that your palate and cravings adapt to where you don’t even want or enjoy cheap junk food.

I use lots of bacon grease and sea salt in my food.
I recently moved to a new part of the country and I was surprised to find refined bacon grease in the supermarket. Now I never spend time frying bacon just to get more grease.
