I'm the only non apple user in my family. Ads are always popping up on an iPad or iPhone about something we were just talking about. At first I thought I was being a conspiracy theorist, but it happens too often to be coincidence.
You made me remember once a while back, we were at the table at home and we were talking about an amusement park that my wife had seen a video of an accident or something like that... and not even 10 minutes had passed when I put YouTube on the TV, the first thing that came up was an ad for an amusement park near here in the city... hahahahaha
It must have been my SMSUNG cell phone (Android) because what's synced to the TV is my Google account

Of course, just like why the hell would a banking app need access to your cell phone's microphone if not to spam you with what it hears about you?

I'd love to know more about that specific event - people getting ads for thing that they were just talking about. I hear people saying the same thing quite a bit.
I'm inclined to think that they perhaps ARE listening to you, specifically targeting terms that could be served up in an ad, and then actually serving up the ad.
But are they also just searching online for these potential ad targets, and then of course they're going to be served up the ad?
Anyone have some evidence, for or against this?

I don't. It's just a sense I get.
