The government should arrive soon and probably want to close this bridge.
Would they destroy it? Have they done similar things in the past?
Trump via Blackrock regained US influence over the Panama canal terminals to prevent the Chinese routing Venezuelan oil to Chinese refineries. Infrastructure is strategic.
reply
Okay, but we're about the Venezuelan government closing a bridge built by its own subjects; not Trump, not China and no oil.
In a person's struggle in life, Trump nor China play a positive role. At most: meet the new overlord, same type of dickhead as the previous overlord.

China has delivered unprecedented wealth creation and increased prosperity for billions of people...and not just in China. Even Trump has his sponsors and admirers who benefit or believe they do from his leadership.
Most people are followers not leaders. Most nations are not sovereign.
The USA has been the overlord over most other nations and China may increasingly do the same.
It is a complex mix and easy just to blame governments when each citizens chooses to obey or resist or contribute.
We are all the government but most people do not participate...leaving a few to graft and corrupt the system.
I hope the people who built this bridge can defend it and benefit from it- but they like all of us are caught up in the global power dynamics of competition between groups of people seeking dominance over wealth and resources.

Even if Trump or China or Oil or some mind controlling alien is behind whatever happens in rural Venezuela in a sinister plot to make people drown in a river every time they want to visit family on the other shore, it is not relevant to my question.
reply
Actually it is. Its about the nature of government, power and strategic assets. The truth is out there. Its just not as simple as you would like it to be.
reply
Where do you see that in my question?
