My sister tied a rakhi around my wrist and prayed for my prosperity, health and well-being. That's not all. I (had to) gave her gifts and make a promise to protect her under any circumstance.

Most of the Indian (Hindu) festivals are tied to the bond among various relationships. I believe these festivals are a big reason that Indian culture is still lively to the of family love.

Edit: And yeah I forgot that sisters also offer Ghewar. My sister offered me and my brother 2 Kgs of pure ghee and saffron Ghewar.
