The concept of the last meal isn’t just exclusive to death row inmates. As palliative care gets more structured, patients nearing the end of their lives get to indulge in their cravings, even if some food items aren’t healthy.

Some even use it as an opportunity to gather their beloved friends and family to bid farewell. More details from this article from my national daily

I think I will like to dip sashimi in wasabi in the moments before I meet my Maker. Something simple and spicy - just the way to sail off into the sunset.

Not to be disrespectful to the concept I would ask for steak. 28-day aged as I may as well try to get an extra month….

im not sure how much of an appetite people have end of life on palliative care etc, i'd probably go with a steak though

Hmm should I go for what appeases my inner child, which is a peppermint choc chip ice cream or do I go for something more wicked like the veal I had in Switzerland that cost like $150 or the delicious samurai pork burger not the Thai one the Singaporean one.

Can I do all three and have a three course meal. Burger for entree, veal for main and ice cream for dessert. I think that is what I will do.

I find the question of a last meal to be a form of psychological torture in and of itself. It reminds you of how much good there is to experience in life and yet you're limited down to one last taste of it before forever being cut off from it, never again being able experience any of the rest. What an excruciating choice
