My question is, "Does this have the opposite effect?" I wonder if anyone scrolls, sees something they really like, then goes to a real online store and buys it. If so, they just bought something they hadn't intend to buy when they woke up that morning. In this way, the fake store is little more than the window shopping experience where you get ideas before walking inside to buy something you just saw.
I don't know, maybe the scroll, click, buy does the trick for some.

I wonder if this works for some people. It feels like it provides some satisfaction.
I hear that thinking about gifting and actually gifting something triggers the same area of the brain. This might have a similar effect and you get to keep your money!

I will send this to my wife. If you never hear from me again . . . it didn't go well. Cool idea but this isn't exactly a nicotine patch here. I worry too that this would enable more than it would correct a bad, unconscious habit.
