Man, I think we'd get along great if we hung out. I'm with you. I might have different ideas about what works but complaining alone is stupid.
Sadly the "liberty movement" for lack of a better term is full of people that aren't that different from the rest of the passive population. Just complaining. I realized back in 2020 that I was pretty much only doing that.
The really bad thing I see is when people complain about stuff and then think just voting every 4 years is really all they can do. Or that that actually makes much difference. Sure, at scale it can but the massive impact is when we all just get to know our local area and start giving a shit. Picking up a shovel and working. See a problem, be a part of fixing it. So few people show up to things anymore.
This is true in many religious orgs as well btw. I really think its largely due to men being passive and lazy. Its a shame when I'm one of only a few men at an event or meeting. But as I said, I think it is slowly changing. I see more young people and men seeing the issues and doing something.
Yeah that’s my hope.
One thing American education really fails students is they don’t teach us about civic duty. I never learned how to actually join a political party! Nothing about primaries and council delegates it was all about voting every 4 years for federal elections. The state systematically took the Republicanism out of the civic process and now it’s based upon tribalism.
Yeah I know we have some differences but overall we want the same goals we want people to be well and have a chance at success.
