I haven't actually had a need to use any medical services (must be that carnivore diet, ha-ha) but I've been with CrowdHealth since the beginning of the year, and just recently transitioned to their Black Swan plan - a 15k deductible.
That kind of very high deductible plan USED to be available via regular insurance - it's what I had a long time ago. But with all the new regulation - it's now not available.
And of course, the only reason they're able to provide something equivalent to a high deductible plan is the "We're not health insurance" thing.
I wonder if regulators will ever try to crack down on this kind of "workaround".
There's an active telegram channel for CrowdHealth, and Andy Schoonover helps answer questions on it (you need to be a member of CrowdHealth, though).
