I imagine the Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons will eventually sort out their contract dispute. TJ Watt just set the bar for compensation for a non QB. I am assuming Parsons wants to best that.
Personally, I don’t think Parsons is a complete player but he is an elite pass rusher and one of the most dynamic players in the league and the market is the market.
Should the Cowboys make him the highest paid non QB?
Yes- he is elite, well deserved 20.0%
Yes- so the cowboys can screw their cap60.0%
No- he is great but not top 30.0%
No- he can’t stop the run20.0%

Jerry is annoying AF, so I will be pleased with any blunder

I did the poll because I am not sure it is a blunder. He is still a great player but he is not at Garrett or Watt level. I also prefer Crosby and Bosa over him because they are better run defenders and I care about that unlike DPOY voters who only care about sacks, but Parsons is still an amazing player. While I would argue he doesn't deserve to be the highest paid that just seems to be the way it goes when the next top gets extended.

Yea, I guess I meant that either he overpays, or pays so much that it hurts the cap situation, or parsons leaves and they lose him.

The argument is pay him imo as the cap will continue to rise and in a few years the deal will be “average” for top players at the position.
Statistically Dallas has a different defence when he is on the field vs without. Even if he doesn’t stop the run he forces offences to game plan pass protection against him which opens up opportunities for other team members. Kinda like how a steph curry 3 point threat opens up the defence

I think that’s a fair argument. If you don’t pay him, you spend the next decade trying to find someone as good as him.
I would say he is an average run stopper and elite pass rusher.

No he gets injured dude

Fair point.
