They just announced it? Weird. I paid via LN a month ago, thought they accepted Lightning for a while. Good privacy, and nice customer support too!

@itsrealfake mentioned lightning support in February: #879556

it was a beta and now it's official with a public node

edit: @megaptera reported it first in #860958, that got some attention

I've been paying with LN too but you could only pay for 1 month at a time.

reply

That's how I've been, I also pay month to month!

reply

No, up to a year. But there is no discounting, so time value of money dictates that we pay monthly.

reply

Nice! I am topped up for a while, but will be good to check this out

Mullvad was the only service I had ever used bitcoin cash for since it allowed me to buy a few hours of a vpn at a time, especially when on chain bitcoin fees were high. I was hoping when mullvad’s lightning payments came out of beta they’d also allow for smaller time intervals, but it seems the minimum is still a month. Lnvpn.net used to have less than a day as well I believe. Seems altcoins through Mullvad is still the only way to get a vpn for an hour if needed. Missed opportunity.

This definitely makes me consider using them more!

Awwwwww shewt

Pretty cool to see Mullvad accepting Lightning now. It just makes sense for a VPN focused on privacy to offer more private payment options too. Curious to see if other privacy-focused services follow their lead.

He stacked during the month the sats destined for the VPN. And when you have to make the payment, it is really fast using lightning. If you have Monero, it is also a good option.

Nice to see this is out of beta
