I'm on vacation, so the weekly hiking post is put on pause this week, but will return next Sunday when I'm home. I thought I would share some lotus flower pictures, as my wife and I took a walk to see some lotus flowers this morning. An interesting thing about lotus flowers is that they only bloom in the morning, but would close up back into a bud in the afternoon. So we went early in the morning to catch the flowers in full bloom. You don't see stuff like that in the Pacific Northwest, like, ever.
A flower in full bloom. Some flowers were still a bud.
More flowers.
A different type of lotus flower. We saw this bird hanging out in the flower field.
Close up of the different lotus breed.
I searched it up. These are called Victoria lotus leaf.
