Fuck predyx - they'll change your market under your nose because "it's the right thing". aka scammers.
Predyx scammers aside, one day these protectionist companies will find themselves once more disrupted by a rando on hf, and that day we party, again.
Yes, Qwen3 took 3x longer than Claude to solve some of the issues it creates. But guess what, I run Qwen3 for zip. Good luck, Anthropic.

Can I know for what you're ranting about? I never had any bad experience so far with them. And afaict you never interacted wih Predyx, did you?

Ranting? Naw. #1036577
HFSP. Only scammers unilaterally change contracts. Real BDE takes the L and admits they fucked up.

I don't reuse nyms. Sold every single share on there when this went down, because... well.. read above.

Alright, still calling them scammers is not the right way to go about it imo.
I did buy Yes shares on that market but tbh I thought it was correct that the market wasn't resolved because — if not the "Yes guys", the "No guys" would feel cheated.
BTW, @mega_dreamer did compensate those who made bets after the post came out.
I remember at one more similar kind of occurence, they did compensate me and others a very generous amount. I think there's a reason why Predyx is still in Beta and when out of it, such things won't happen.

Gave it a couple of hours to think it through, slept on it, gave it a few more hours.
Although you may be right that the designation is harsh - I decided to call it out because lately we see a definite increase in poorly managed LN integrated apps that get massively word-of-mouth pumped, attract tons of users, and then shtf.
But, in this case, calling it out was a wrong decision. I should have just kept my mouth shut and kept the status quo where I just shake my head at my screen and y'all don't know I do.

If it truly is in beta, not beta-designation-washed as an excuse for poor process, then I don't understand why it should be mentioned under a news article. Bad things often happen when unfinished products make their way into the hands of the many.

Great to see you have the courage to accept a mistake, not many can do it. I appreciate it.

Yes, I can confirm again it's in beta and it's not an excuse for anything because 1) they are making it clear every now and then to us and 2) they aren't yet promoting it extensively for masses which I believe they can, 3) most of the markets created there are upon the request of stackers, 4) product like predyx (a prediction market) needs to go through extensive testing under real conditions before being launched in full, 5) the last stage where they will allow user created markets, managed by users are yet to be released.
I don't understand why it should be mentioned under a news article
That's on me, not on Predyx. I do it all the time when I see a related market, just for adding a little fun, but mostly because I believe in the product and think they need a mention on stacker news because most of the users of Predyx right now are from here.

Thank you for the kind word :)
You know what, I use to work for a payment processing company. The best thing that company taught me was that: SCAMMERS ARE THE LOUDEST
