Absolutely. I sold my stack around $80k, and although I would've had a lot more purchasing power if I'd simply had held on, back then it could've just as well gone further South and tank in value.

Holding on is great, but actually using it - to better yourself - is magnitudes better - and remember: you can always start a new stack.

I did this in the very beginning of Bitcoin, without being even involved in it and frankly running into a protectionist wall as a noob, but because I made okay money in my career I decided to quit the "shitjob" and try to do something more satisfying with my life, less income be damned.

It's been hard sometimes, but there have been many rich moments during this time where I've taken on fun jobs or ones where I could have real impact. Volunteering time for FOSS development has been great too, despite the politics and drama sometimes making me wonder "why am I doing this?"

If I can recommend anything: do make sure you keep challenges in your life, even if they won't impact you financially much. The worst thing that can happen is being bored.

Time > money. We typically optimize for money because that tool happens to give us the most opportunity to enjoy time. But often we forget the real reward is the time / experience, money is only a means to an end. That said, optimizing for maximal short term enjoyment in the moment often sacrifices anything that could be done for future generations.

It's always that time. The only sense I can make of doing otherwise is that you're in debt to someone or something (not necessarily a financial debt but you are bound to reciprocate with some kind of sacrifice). Pay it off. Do what you like.
