I have the feeling that most of my life, I've been doing what was better or what I was supposed to do...Now, as I'm getting older and also I've a little bit more resources, I ask myself if I should start doing what I like instead of taking always the cheapest or financially smart decision... Very often, I read post on SN where the author ask more or less the same thing..
If he should buy a sport car...or if it is the right decision to sell some SATs in order to buy your dream home...and so on.
I think that I'm in the middle of my life, so let me enjoy the second part of it!
I'm not asking for permission but some reinforcement would be great!

Absolutely. I sold my stack around $80k, and although I would've had a lot more purchasing power if I'd simply had held on, back then it could've just as well gone further South and tank in value.
Holding on is great, but actually using it - to better yourself - is magnitudes better - and remember: you can always start a new stack.

Pass on your wealth to the stewardship of the next generation, teach them to do the same, don’t consume and destroy it in your life time. Enjoy your reward in heaven.

You should have done what you wanted from the beginning. Man's first duty is to fight for what he believes in. Don't let your mind guide you. But let your heart guide your mind. Conclusion: You can't use your mind properly without listening to your heart.
You got it!

Absolutely! But that doesn't mean selling all your sats for fiat.
I did this in the very beginning of Bitcoin, without being even involved in it and frankly running into a protectionist wall as a noob, but because I made okay money in my career I decided to quit the "shitjob" and try to do something more satisfying with my life, less income be damned.
It's been hard sometimes, but there have been many rich moments during this time where I've taken on fun jobs or ones where I could have real impact. Volunteering time for FOSS development has been great too, despite the politics and drama sometimes making me wonder "why am I doing this?"
If I can recommend anything: do make sure you keep challenges in your life, even if they won't impact you financially much. The worst thing that can happen is being bored.

Time > money. We typically optimize for money because that tool happens to give us the most opportunity to enjoy time. But often we forget the real reward is the time / experience, money is only a means to an end. That said, optimizing for maximal short term enjoyment in the moment often sacrifices anything that could be done for future generations.

well so far i think You’ve done the smart thing, the “safe” thing, the thing that made sense on paper. That foundation you built? That is freedom now you get to decide how to use it. so want the sport car? Get it. Want to move somewhere sunny, weird, or remote? Do it. Want to trade some SATs for peace, inspiration, or the joy of feeling alive again? That’s not weakness that’s wisdom. You’re not betraying your principles by enjoying the life you helped build. Bitcoin is about freedom, and freedom means choosing joy without guilt. The second half of your life doesn’t have to be about maximizing gains—it can be about maximizing meaning. It’s not irresponsible to live on your own terms. It’s why you were responsible in the first place.
ro summarize it all no, you don’t need permission. But if you needed a nudge?

i think there is no harm in using some Ai help to elaborate on some ideas to get the broader image that what i have done. also i think that what matters is that acting upon a decision and that the decision must fullfil one's desire or a goal since we are all different and looking beside the less risky decision sometimes is not worth it but either taking the risk and learn from it.

Take your AI, Your LLM and stuff it where it belongs. AI LLMs in place of original thoughts are not welcome on Stacker News.

It's always that time. The only sense I can make of doing otherwise is that you're in debt to someone or something (not necessarily a financial debt but you are bound to reciprocate with some kind of sacrifice). Pay it off. Do what you like.

As I get older, the light cone of possible futures narrows. Act now... what's reachable today may vanish tomorrow.
