You thinking about the Russian-American Company? The Dutch East India Company is way more lit for a few reasons. First off, it was actually inspired by Portugal India Company, which started way back in 1549. The Dutch one kicked off in 1602, and some folks even say it got going with help from expelled Portuguese Jews. But the second, and probably biggest, reason? It was the first company to go public and they basically invented stock exchanges. Crazy!
