You won't believe this, but I just found out you can get cash from your car in the U.S., like a drive-thru. I've never seen that in Europe!

Tether just released its quarterly attestation for Q2 2025.

Highlights as of 30th June 2025:
  • 157.1B total issued USDt, end of Q2 2025.
  • 162.5B total assets/reserves, end of Q2 2025.
  • 5.47B excess reserves, on top of the 100% reserves in liquid assets that back all issued tokens, end of Q2 2025.
  • 127B+ in US treasuries (direct + indirect exposure), end of Q2 2025.
  • 4.9B net profits, in Q2 2025 (5.7B YTD)
  • 13B USDt supply increase, in Q2 2025 (20B increase YTD).

USDt growth is accelerating, leading the market with a 100B delta with the second largest stablecoin.

In the upcoming quarter Tether will focus on a new venture in the U.S, to build a best-in-class product suite (stablecoins plus more), designed for the specific, already highly efficient, market.

Thank you very much for the continued support ❤️

Has anyone suggested a tool for saving draft posts? Or does it already exist and I just don't know how to use it?

reply

There's an open issue here: https://github.com/stackernews/stacker.news/issues/216

Currently, I think one local draft is saved for posts based on whatever you left it off as, and the latest text you input into a comment box is saved

But there's no real way to save multiple drafts, or to manage your drafts.

reply

I use this all the time. If you use SN in multiple tabs, you can kinda save several drafts...although they are gone if I close the tab.

reply

I mostly just use Notepad++ for drafts. It's all markdown anyway.

reply
Notepad++

Unfortunately, Windows only.

I’m using Obsidian locally to draft posts, but when I’m on another machine, I can’t access or save my drafts.

reply

I always liked that logo.

reply

Me too! I remember asking Super to verify the syntax and he just looked at me like 😐
This was when we first met and didn't really know each other lol. He didn't quite get my humor yet.

reply

I can very clearly imagine that interaction. I wish we could get super back on SN.

Hey everyone! I just saw my Cowboy Credit go from 169 to 56, and some sats landed in my new wallet. Looks like the zaps are finally working — big shoutout to whoever helped with the rewind! ⚡🙌

I’ve updated my Lightning wallet to Wallet of Satoshi:
bravecargo99@walletofsatoshi.com
Can you please Rewind my Cowboy Credits as sats to this wallet? Thanks!

Can you please Rewind my Cowboy Credits as sats to this wallet? Thanks!

That's not something that we can do.

reply

Okay, thanks!

reply

You can’t really turn CCs into sats, but if you want, I can buy the CCs off you.

reply

Thanks for your support.

Where's the SN Live Pod post? @Car was on fire!

reply

I regret nothing, only that I cursed too much, I am praying for him though.

reply

I thought it was kinda funny.

One thing though... Justin Sun is a scammer, not a communist

reply

Still watching the podcast but the guest dipped already. @Car was on fire, yo! @DarthCoin's gotta peep this! Hahahaha. I noticed @k00b also has that tic of closing his eyes when is thinking, just like Lex Fridman.

reply

I tend to do that even more when I’m under slept.

Public shaming shitcoiners is what perfectly describe a true bitcoiner.
No remorse for shitcoiners.

I've been too embarrassed to watch this episode.

reply

That's it! Thanks

reply

Why? You guys did good. I imagine david bailey felt a bit ambushed but he knew what Car had said in the previous episode so he knew what he was getting into

reply

I'm not ashamed of it or anything. I just find hostilities hard to experience/watch.

reply

I think Bailey took it pretty well too, never really lashing out or appearing to get angry.

I don't agree with his position on "enable as much building on top of Bitcoin as I can, even if it's scams", but I respect him for being willing to come on your show, saying his point of view, and not getting mad.

Yesterday's comment

Happiness Journal 31/7/25

I am given the most challenging Primary 5 class for Form Teacher-ship. Little terrors, some of my colleagues might call them.

Today, I just sauntered to the parade square a few minutes before recess and started my countdown. “5…4…3…2…1” I announced, and my students hurriedly sat down like clockwork.

Shiok.

This reminds me of how I was unceremoniously given the most challenging Secondary 3 class in my first year in NorthLight. It took time, but I had them eating out of my hands eventually. Like the Pier Piper leading his merry men to greater heights.

In other news, only 5 students combined these sentences correctly:

Furniture is an uncountable noun. Fur is an uncountable noun too.

I seriously didn’t expect them not to be able to derive the answer: Both furniture and fur are uncountable nouns.

Sigh. Looks like I need to show them simpler sentences tomorrow:

Bacteria multiplies quickly. Laughter also multiplies quickly.

Whoa! I literally created this image for an embeddings presentation i did once:

reply

Crazy how small the world is! What’s that image about? Mind giving a quick rundown? Where’d you put the blue dot for Bitcoin? Ahahah

reply

This is a 2-D projection of semantic embeddings for a bunch of words related to college majors. I was doing an internal presentation to my department about some research i've been doing with embeddings and wanted to demonstrate how embeddings work, since it's not common knowledge yet. It was interesting that mathematics turns out in the center!

I didn't do Bitcoin for this haha. Wonder where it'd show up. My guess is it'd show up near finance / accounting / economics.
