Changeable conditions usually make for exciting races, but 2025 was a bit dull. The Belgian tourist board provided nothing to this article; the writer just really really loves Spa-Francorchamps. Ars does not accept paid editorial content.Formula 1 made its annual stop at Spa-Francorchamps, the historic track that winds its way through the hills and trees of the Ardennes. I’ll admit, I’d been waiting for this one; in fact, I’ve become somewhat of a Spa bore, having fallen in love with the place all over again a few weeks ago while attending the Crowdstrike 24-hour GT3 race. The 4.3 mile (6.9 km) track delivers, whether that’s as a challenge to the drivers—corners like Eau Rouge, Raidillon, Pouhon, and Blanchiment are the equal of any. There’s elevation change, something that neither Monza nor Silverstone nor Montreal can offer. It has history, dating back well before the start of the Formula 1 world championship in 1949, albeit in a much longer, much scarier version that was truncated by more than half in 1979. The views are spectacular from almost anywhere you choose to watch from, and despite the track’s size, its a pleasant and easy walk through the forest paths (just as long as you can stop imagining that one scene from Band of Brothers).

F1 has some really cool tracks. I like when they race at night. I didn't see any of this race though.

I’m not the biggest F1 fan, but whenever it’s on TV, I always end up watching. Gotta say, I agree with the article’s author, this one’s definitely one of the best. I’m not really into night races, maybe they’re cool to watch live, though.

F1 has done an amazing job promoting their brand. Probably wasn't the case in Europe but Indy car was more popular in North America when I was a kid/young adult, but F1 has pretty much made them obsolete with their tech, marketing and media.

I don't know...
I find it kind of boring watching cars go by at high speed...
At least that's how I see it from my TV!!
I imagine it would be a little more interesting to see it live...
