OpenSats has funded 12 waves of Nostr-native projects to date and continues to support them. As of 1 July 2025, a total of 90 projects spanning lightweight mobile clients, infrastructure tools, encryption audits and decentralised marketplaces had been supported. Had the entire $10,000,000 Nostr Fund been distributed evenly across these projects, the average grant per project would have been approximately $111,111. However, as many projects have received multiple rounds of funding or follow-up grants, the effective average initial grant per project is likely to be lower, potentially closer to $70,000–$90,000.

In practice: Smaller tools, such as CLI utilities, probably received grants of under $50k. Larger applications, libraries or audits may have received $150k or more, reflecting their greater complexity and impact. This tiered funding approach demonstrates the Fund's dedication to supporting the growth and sustainability of the Nostr ecosystem in both breadth and depth.
