Re: what @k00b said about Meta's benefit structure.
I once had the pleasure of helping a FOSS friend that really needed a job, after a successful "put yourself out there" campaign, choose between Meta, Google and 3 other offers they got. What amazed me is that the sophistication of the Meta perks is amazing, even compared to Goog. They've got that down. Higher pay, more perks, and all you have to do is sell your soul to the Zuck instead of to the Goog. In the end went for one of the smaller ones because of impact, as also just discussed, and afaict they're happy.
But point: Meta is more generous than Goog.
PS: Please don't worry about the discussion w/ Baily, Keyan... you were great.

I think that it went really well considering the ballistic missiles fired during the slayings of the past few weeks. I can endlessly disagree with the man's actions but I've got to give it to him, he's not a pussy and he stands behind what he does. He's gained some of my respect.
I played with a thought of analyzing the talk but I'm going to sit on it.

He handled it very gracefully and it was nice for him to bother with us at all.
I was surprised by his lack of moral turbulence. I expected his rationalizations to be more coherent/cohesive. I'm unqualified. No one is qualified. I'm not in control of the really bad stuff. People want what they want. I'm running a business. The end justifies the means. We're winning so are we bad or is the universe bad?

That's what I'd expect someone that is truly all-in to say, minus the "running a business"... but I'm not sure if that's true, even though I got the feeling he believes it. The running a business part is what makes me doubt the sincerity, which is why I don't want to analyze it rn.
