Anything counts. A hobby is a hobby irrespective of loss or gain. I asked the same to one my friends here and he said his most expensive hobby was tasting different varities of liquor, though he wasn't a drunkard.
Flying airplanes. Renting those little machines cost a wee bit. As do the licenses, and I got a few more of those I'm eyeing.
Food. I love buying food trying different foods and gambling
