Call me cynical if you must but I do not think there will be any significant consequences for anyone prominent. At best there will a scapegoat. Whatever conspiracy that exists will never see the light of day. This is the pattern we have observed through history and I see no reason why it won't repeat.
Not to say people should stop trying to expose this but I don't expect Trump or anyone to expose the true nature of this thing whatever it is. I don't pretend to know what is going on but exposing the truth is not going on.

It is my personal belief that the list contains so many people on both sides and in the Stock Market that Trump is worried it’ll tank the stock market. If that were to happen the Republicans would lose the House and he would absolutely hate that

One of the more sane theories I've heard. If true it demonstrates some terrible planning on the part of Bondi and Trump. Would they not have thought of this before they made such a big deal about it?
