I'm lined up for a 9a, but if the price difference with an 8a would be huge (it's not for me right now) then I'd do that.

Pixel 8 and up has MTE, so, barring bugs, that's better than what Pixel 7 offers.

Currently for me, locally, a 9a is 445k sats, an 8a 396k sats.

Not yet, but I'm preparing to buy the 9a if one of the following happens:

  1. One of my gigs actually pays up (been waiting for forever on multiple payments now), or
  2. My current 6a breaks further than it is already broken
