Willy Woo says he sold all of his bitcoin...
Publicly declaring you don't have BTC or only paper BTC seems to be gaining popularity... is this just an attempt to ward off wrench attacks?

How do you deal with referrals? I mean the ones who brought you here — have you ever stopped to think about it? I was looking through the history of the person who referred me, to whom I’m very grateful for introducing me, but I don’t see a reason to maintain a profit link to him if he’s not a good person for this place. I didn’t stack much, but even so, I think it’s already more than enough.
Depending on the responses I get, I’ll continue the reasoning so I don’t take up too much space.
I was going to make a post, but I don’t know in which territory or if it’s even worth it.

-Why are you studying #Bitcoin?
-It's not just about knowing how to secure or how a node works, how blocks are mined, and what they contain. It goes much further. Bitcoin opens doors for me, and I'm starting to connect things, recreating worlds I thought I knew. Now I can verify everything.

Are stablecoins worse than dollars mediated by credit/debit cards and payment processors like paypal/venmo in the US?
The more I read about the GENIUS act (#1048643), the more it seems like they are becoming the same system. But what I want to know is: will this system be significantly worse than the current system?
Privacy is already non-existent when you use credit cards or paypal-things. So too with sovereignty. And third-party doctrine means gov't has insight into all my transactions anyway.

Hello, I haven't been here for a long time (2 months not much) but a lot has changed in my life, I finished high school, exams at the end I will show off their results: Oral exams: English: 40% Polish: 100% Written exams (obligatory): Polish: 53% Math: 96% English (B1): 38% Written exams (additional): Math: 28% Physics: 42%
These results allowed me to get into the field of study at the university I wanted, so you can say that I fulfilled my dream for the near future, although I do not consider the result of the additional exam in mathematics or physics to be good. During the current holidays, I earn quite well even though physically (only to own anything in college to survive, he directs the surplus in btc, the only currency that will not lose value).
In the meantime, it turned out that I had to give up surgery on the jaw in order to repair the crooked bite because the deadline did not come out at all, September-October - the time when I was supposed to prepare for college or already work. The problem is that in my country health insurance is when: either you work or you are a student or you have the status of unemployed where in 3 months the employment office finds you a job and to put it mildly it would be inconvenient because the recovery time with such an operation is 3-4 months. The only way out was to save yourself by not 100% of the work done but always 80%. It's better than nothing.
And in the last days (July 15) I had my 20th birthday, which I didn't really celebrate because I was celebrating my friend's 18th birthday 4 days later. I'm honestly glad I was there because I could at least mentally/psychically support him because after alcohol he was quite open that he feels like he was worthless, I didn't drink at this party because I was for the driver.
In conclusion, thank you to everyone who has read, I invite you to ask questions, I will be happy to answer, I wish you a nice day or a good night depending on the time zone.

It is clearer that the support of 120K USD/Bitcoin is the roof for the initial bitcoiners.
It is very possible that these bitcoiners would be now around 50-60y and they are not willing to wait anymore. They need the money now and live the rest of their lifes as millionaires.
JUST IN: Someone bought 1,000 Bitcoin for $300K, HODLed for 12 years, and sold for $100 MILLION.

Happiness Journal 21/7/25
Work is starting to pile up, but I prepared for my Science remedial class nevertheless. The interesting thing is that I don’t actually teach these students Science in the regular curriculum. I am instead their English teacher. So, it’s a bit surreal to speak in a different register and use different lingo during remedial.
I put in effort for this remedial, taking care to bring in a cup of hot water and another cup of ice cold water. Leveraging these props, I could reinforce that the white white thing they see = mist = water droplets. I then showed them the real-life applications of condensation, specifically how a Chinese restaurant cut holes in the plastic container to allow water vapour to escape. Finally, coupled with an acronym WCLCW, I used several examples to painstakingly drum in how “water vapour in the surrounding air comes in contact with the cooler surface, loses heat and condenses to form water droplets”.
Not sure how much these kids did absorb, but I think I am a better Science teacher than I was 3.5 years ago. And if I keep honing my craft, my children will ultimately benefit from my expertise.
reply
I’m sure they absorbed a lot. There’s nothing better in the natural sciences than a hands-on demonstration. I remember when I was a kid and had to rely on illustrations in books — the artist had their merit, but an experiment solved things much more effectively.
reply
I've been feeling lately that I need to spend more time on science with my children. We have a good basis in math and computer science, but I really haven't exposed them much to the traditional sciences, especially chemistry.
reply
I was a chemistry major in college!
But when I became an elementary school teacher, I was sorely disappointed to learn that the pri Science curriculum hardly covers chemistry. Mostly Physics (Physical Science) and Biology (Life Sciences). I think it’s because Chemistry is too abstract for the typical primary school kid. Take today for instance. I wanted to explain how the water molecules in ice need to gain heat to break the intermolecular forces between them. But I knew it would fly over my students’ heads. So I used phrases like break chains haha

Waiting for AI to make things cheaper! So far it’s made things more expensive with more subscription fees to access services. For example to use chatGPT you need to pay for power, internet, and these costs haven’t come down yet!
Where is the deflation?!!?
reply
Ain’t ever going to happen!! The central banks will not allow deflation to occur because they and their allies make too much money when there is inflation. The people running these companies, the VCs and the banks will make sure that you and I pay and pay and pay. I don’t think falling into the convenience trap is a smart thing to do.
reply
Internet felt like this at first: pay for dial up, maybe you have to buy a computer, buy a modem. But then email got useful and then search.
You don't think llms have saved you some time?
reply
A bit but even with the internet life isn’t getting cheaper. Things that matter have skyrocketed in price. Homes cars healthcare education all way more expensive. Yet what’s cheaper? Consumer goods but even then they aren’t that much cheaper.
I’m just waiting for high quality food to actually get cheaper. Will the internet and AI make a bag of organic apples ever cost $1 in today’s dollars?
reply
I think they've cost me additional time. When I used to just give up on a search pretty quickly, now I spend a little bit chatting with the LLM to refine my questions, and then spend even more time actually reading the sources it found.
reply
Nope, that is much more expensive than anything else you can do!! Time is the value of your life. Stealing goods is stealing past time. Murder is stealing future time. And, waste is stealing present time.
