True story:
A friend of mine had a sort of unspoken agreement with his parents: when the time came, they would help him financially to buy a home.
They had already gifted a house to his brother when he got married, so it only seemed fair.
But when the time came… the help never came.
Why?
Because my friend, after years of working hard, saving in BTC, and investing in the stock market, no longer needs a job. He bought a van and is now traveling the country, living in vacation mode.
When his father saw that lifestyle, he told him:
“We’re not going to support someone who doesn’t work.”
The irony is… he’s able to live like that because he worked and handled his money better than anyone else.
This made me reflect on how society often rewards those who grind endlessly, who look tired and always busy, instead of those who succeeded and figured out how to escape the system.
Not all success shows up on a résumé.
Sometimes, the greatest achievement is being able to live on your own terms.
And what would you do if you were the father?, or my friend?
