I recently spent some time in a neglected swimming pool. It was about to be filled in, but I managed to gain access before the excavator arrived. Inside there were vines and weeds, raspberries, a beautiful frog, sand, and lots of rust.

There is something about abandoned swimming pools that feels...collapse, apocalypse, ozymandian. Nice photos.

Thank you. In this case, with the swimming pool being so taken over by nature I was feeling a more organic vibe than the collapse of society, but nature taking over probably doesn't happen without a collapse in some form or another – so yeah, you're not wrong.
