I figured with how popular talking about the Home Run Derby has been that throwing together a little thread would be helpful! Below are the hitters and who is throwing them their pitches!

Matt Olson - Eddie Perez, former catcher and long time Braves staffer who has thrown BP for years

James Wood - Ricky Gutierrez the Nationals Third Base Coach

Junior Caminero - Is using Tomas Francisco who threw for Randy Arozarena when he was in the Derby a couple of years ago

Cal Raleigh - He is using his father! Plus his brother is the "catcher"!

Jazz Chisholm Jr. - He is using his step father!

Byron Buxton - Tommy Watkins the Twins Third Base Coach

Oneil Cruz - Stephen Morales a coach for the Pirates and Cruz's translator

Brent Rooker - is using Joe Caruso who threw to him over the off season

Fun fact. I have zapped sats to Junior Caminero.

He used to play for the Perth Heat and you used to be able to zap players sats during the games.

I was able to login on PWA and that worked. Pain in the ass to use. I accidentally sold dumper shares when I was trying to buy but was able to buy back pretty quick so didn't hurt that much.

That was fun.

Yeah I had the same issue 😂 I also somehow sold shares 2500 shares of Cal for 0.17 🤦‍♂️

You have to be really careful on the PWA because whatever you did last it defaults to that when you go to the next outcome. So if you sold one player and then went to big dumper it would default to sell. You have to change it to buy.

I really wish they would bring back the in game zapping. They also used to have a steal sats thing where if they got a stolen base they would post a QR code and you could steal some sats from them.

Yes the Rays and Heat have an international player development deal so they will occasionally send young guys they want to get more ABs to play with the Heat for the ABL season.

It is really something I feel like only baseball would pull off without any one saying anything about it. Esp. from someone who is becoming a star and talked about on the National stage
