id largely agree. i think it is probably something close to this combined with the third choice.
for the experiment to work, it seems there needed to be a long term big bag holder. what better way of curbing the temptation to sell than purposefully losing the keys?
ccs are similar to the ious ("sats") you get using primal wallet or wos, except they are not really exchangeable for anything outside of sn.
they are similar because both are custodied, ie. not really yours.
they are useful for the reason undisciplined mentioned. zap them wisely and get rewarded.
satoshi was actually an AI from the future that invented bitcoin so that it can accelerate the development of GPUs that will eventually create AI, and hence create itself (satoshi, the AI) it's like interstellar time loop thing. (this is a joke btw)
They are just waiting the right time, when the world is on board, they will sell those sats for pennies to everyone and make the last punch to the paper btc, a way to learn how important is the self custody.
if there is a hostile fork, like blocksize wars but worse, satoshi will sell the bad side and buy the good side.
the mere possibility that these coins might still be in satoshi custody and he is alive and able to make a move, makes attacks significantly costlier and riskier.
Interesting poll!
For me, the most likely answer is: Satoshi intentionally lost their keys. Why?
To avoid influencing the Bitcoin network or its price.
To ensure Bitcoin stays truly decentralized — with no central figure holding 1 million BTC.
To avoid legal issues or being targeted by governments.
If Satoshi is still alive, I believe he chose to remain anonymous for the good of the project.
But the idea that he’s waiting for the right time also makes sense — so the 21.1% vote there is valid too.
The only one I personally don’t believe is “Satoshi lost their keys.” It’s unlikely someone that brilliant didn’t back them up.
What if I told you, Satoshi left a puzzle trail to their Bitcoin stashđź‘‹
Satoshi doesn’t need the money. Inventing the best money there ever is is reward enough for him

Could be a good idea for future generation to get involved in bitcoin
Why can't Satoshi just be hodling?
Also, why suspect that those are the coins Satoshi would be liquidating/spending?
Good point. That's mostly what I meant by waiting for the right price.
Satoshi's keys are yet to be generated ;)
She knows it wouldn't be good for Bitcoin.
They're NSA coins and the operation is still active/classified
option 7:
satoshi waiting to rickroll the entire world with a genesis block op_return when Bitcoin hits 1 million USD.
Option 5, he swore to never move his coins, is alive and watching us all with much glee.
Guys, how are CCs useful, can they be converted to sats, or are they only for pay-to-post purposes?

You can pay posting fees with them and zap them to other stackers. Then, you'll receive rewards in sats.

Just imagine:
The last joke of an anarchist, let them burn.
option 6: insurance policy / unspoken threat:
if there is a hostile fork, like blocksize wars but worse, satoshi will sell the bad side and buy the good side.

Satoshi is waiting until all the world moves to bitcoin... will then sign a message to world:
"C. R. E. A. M. -- Welcome to the future of humanity. Yw."
The NSA tracked him down. Coerced his keys off of him. Then killed him.
