They are egregious, yes, but he didn't run on the promise to scrap the taxes. Also, they actually care about little girls and boys being raped by creepy adults, especially if those adults are also deciding on the future of their country...

Oh really? Anyway, I think you'd have to get rid of at least half of the bureaucracy first, to make it realistic.
