I think everyone is moving to other platforms like Spotify and other Paid Platforms. YouTube is also trying to make its transition to being a big studio itself like AppleTV and Amazon. Gone are the days of free hosting, the world has moved to silos and curation.
Personally speaking as the person who produces SNL every week. We get much better reach, visibility and listeners on Spotify then we ever did on Transistor and currently still do on YouTube. Google has this weird algo you got to jump through, same goes for Twitter just to get seen. Makes no sense, they are operating with Web 2.0 mindset and still haven't gotten the memo. I see it as a cooler better vibe to be where there are nothing but paying customers, youth and music culture. It's a no brainer.
Our demo is growing and proving that.
