Thanks for boosting it. It is an interesting story. I definitely resonate with it: there are so many ways to bust your butt in the right place and right time and still miss success.

i think like the OP said, doing stuff that isn't generating a ROI is the root of the issue
It could not generate ROI today but not next year.
