Hey everyone! I’m not as well known in the bitcoin space as others who have done AMAs before me, but I’d love to answer any questions about what we’re working on @Valera.
My latest post was a tweetstorm about a project called Indra, a LN node runtime capable of managing hundreds of thousands of Lightning nodes on a single server.
Ask me about:
  • Indra
  • Combining hardware and software
  • Software from embedded to massive “cloud” scale
  • Our upcoming hardware, Live Signers (internet connected signers) and Insignia (our payment ring)
  • What I think about the future of Bitcoin/LN And anything else you can think of!
Looking forward to answering some Qs :))

About me: I’m a 16 yo developer from the UK. Doing bitcoin things for 2 years now!
How long have you been a developer? What program language did you learn first.
Great product but I am so confused on what this is supposed to do? If your product is a wild success what will it mean for the space?
reply
Been developing for about 3-4 years, nothing this big though. I know a few, I think my dad wanted me to learn C# first but I ended up mostly working in JS because of the versatility. Rust now for the majority of things.
And the idea is that it optimises LN nodes down to the point where we don't have to think about them as nodes and just accounts instead. So firstly an architectural change if anything

What do your 16 year old friends think of the Bitcoin and crypto landscape?
Are they aware of the high level developments across the industry? Do they gravitate to a certain set of assets or use cases? (bitcoin, altcoins, nfts, etc…)
reply
I've just joined college (last 3 months) but all my friends there are onboard with the "99.99% of crypto is a scam" and that bitcoin is the way forward. My friend paid me for lunch today with her Muun wallet that I set up and it's so much better for us to use compared to sharing bank account details or bothering with the signup of Cash App. They're most excited about the money part of things from what I can tell. Haven't had any interest in alts or nfts yet. Can't wait to onboard them onto our own app!

would love to hear more details on your payment ring, Insignia.
why did you pick that form factor over a watch or some other wearable device?
reply
Insignia is probably going to be the biggest hardware challenge, fitting our tech into a ~5mm wide 2.5mm deep metal band is going to be a lot of work. If we get it working at that form factor, it should be relatively easy to offer the same functionality in other form factors.
As for Watch: We can likely integrate into Apple Pay & competitors. Apple makes a far better watch than we’ll ever be able to make and have perfected it over the years. We’d rather integrate than build a new one. But other form factors are possible and will be likely depending on how much attention there is.
As for tech specs, Insignia has no battery. It’s powered by NFC, integrates a OLED display with a capacitive sensor for user confirmation. it uses a one round communication with the reader acting as an authorisation device

И для тебя! И это именно то, кого мы хотели бы поддержать, а не такие организации, как A16Z или "крипто" фонды. Мы лояльны к цепочке времени. Надеюсь, мы сможем связаться с этими людьми для финансирования.

Regarding your goal to serve thousands of users with a single server, does every user need to have a dedicated channel, i.e. on-chain commitments? or do you have other scaling plans?
reply
Have you released any code yet (for any of your products) that some of us can try out?
reply
Not yet but likely soon. First things to release will be our server-side things, and we'll need an SDK to build our mobile apps. That SDK will be open sourced so 3rd party apps can use it. Also self-hosted bits but that will come a lot later alongside hardware.
reply
Do you have an expected launch date for Indra, Live Signers, or Insignia?
reply
Not quite ready to give a strict timeline, but looking to close a pre-seed/seed in next 3-4 months and our server-based APIs will arrive first. Mobile wallets using API will come alongside hardware development as long as we have the resources to do so!
