True, but...
  1. meshtastic devices ara cheap,
  2. bluetooth chips on phones are not equal, so diminished reliability,
  3. bluetooth signal is easily jammable,
  4. there's a tendency to "steal" our privacy on phones by manufacturers and govts, so this also limits possible usage.
I might have jumped the gun with my comment, but in all seriousness I can't see it as more than a toy for peace times. For serious usage it's not enough.

Everyonw keeps looking for the one thing that will solve all problems - jack vibecoded a bluetooth p2p app, if it was anyone else in the world nobody would care about it but because its jack everyone does, but more importantly - any awareness that there are options that dont necessitate a 3rd party or doxing everyone is good, it directionally gets you closer to decentralization and further from big (brother) tech
