About 4-5 hours of work went into this landing page, so feel free to roast it if you think it sucks - just tell me why and what pls 🤠
landing page is here: https://plunda.co
I played around a bit, even bought a random coin, and everything went smoothly. Lightning login went through on first pass, that's not always the case with other platforms.
Aesthetically, looks good, I guess~~ I don't have an artistic fiber in me, so my assessment on this is not worth much.
reply
the lightning login uses this package https://github.com/jowo-io/next-auth-pubkey
which i built and maintain - so glad it works 😚

appreciate that! more than i expected. thank you 🔥
so were there any moments of confusion or where things were not obvious, that could be ironed out?

I did not like the infinite scroll too much when checking out coins. PTSD from all the social media platforms. It's probably not infinite, but that's what it felt like until I closed the window.
reply
ok, interesting. thanks for the insight
reply
Looks good to me. Maybe just add horizontal auto-scroll for the coins in the second image.
reply
ok that's done, thanks for the idea :)
reply
nice idea. will do that

One thing I would comment on is making it super easy to deposit sats. Maybe in the top right hand corner put a deposit button there? When I am using the app I am often trying to find where I can deposit.
One better is providing a deposit LN address for easy deposit.
Then once you really get going you can so like SN and attach a NWC to make deposits and withdrawals seamless

It looks good. Better than the old version. I'm wondering if you're heading toward more emphasis on a kind of "virtual ownership" as opposed to an online coin shop that accepts bitcoin? Sorry if I wandered outside the scope of your post.
reply
no apologies needed. plunda.co is intended to be used in both ways. ilif you want to use it like a shop and withdraw your coins, you can. if you prefer to keep your assets digital and never custody them you can do that too

I could say you lack a menu in the upper part. Something like: how it works | assets | FAQs | ambassador (for the help build and crowdfunding part) | contact
Make it always centered in the green fixed bar - it will also be visible when scrolling/navigating on the website.
Branding wise would be that right beside the icon to put the brand name (plunda) - especially or at least when scrolling down.
Also, try to make your design more responsive in matter of background at least. It's nice to see the scroll down for more on a green background but right now I do see the gray part also... and maybe make the arrow clickable to begin with, yellow, bolder, bigger (like those on the join page) ?
Use a floating "back to top" button also.
The social media buttons in the lower part should align to the yellow/green/white&black color theme of your brand. You picked great colors, btw.
P.S.: I saw the day/night button on the join page, why not use it on the landing also?

awesome, thank you for the thoughts and ideas! these will take a little more time to add that @0xbitcoiner's - so i'll add them to my todo list and consider which ones to add first.
thanks!

Ey this is pretty cool! Love the automation you built. Simple idea and the business execution is looking good. I've had similar physical collectible business ideas (anime TCG cards) that failed miserably. I'm rooting for you!
One complaint, the coins in the carousel on the landing page have a pricetag and a buy tooltip. I was expecting to be able to click a coin I like, and be able to buy it. Turns out I can't. Clicking the buy now text just closes the tooltip. So it looks like the only alternative is to click the 'browse assets' button where I'm taken to the coins list page where I have to re-find the coin I liked.
I'm curious about the 'Login with Lightning' feature. I've never seen that before. Is it a custom implementation or is it something that's standardized? (I am curious to know if I can do that with my own websites)
Digging into the source code of the Login with Lighting page, my browser complains that there's a stray <script> tag which falls outside the <body>. IDK if there's a good reason for that, but it seemed to work anyway.
Last point, love the good performance of your landing page. I don't have a GPU and the page is still smooth. Lots of websites today don't run this smooth. Respect!

here's the package that the app uses for login with lightning auth: https://github.com/jowo-io/next-auth-pubkey
and thanks for your feedback. I'll update the carousel so coins are clickable 👍
do you have any lessons learned from your failed attempt with the anime TCG cards business? what exactly did you try?
i remember reading somewhere that Mt Gox started as a Magic the Gathering trading card exchange, or something like that. Now i don't wanna compare plunda to Mt Gox 😆 but i think it's a good example of one idea leading somewhere else over time and as it develops.
my point is that plunda will evolve and change as it finds PMF. i have a strong vision and a long term plan, but also gotta go where the river is flowing and respond to what reaonates with people, and what doesn't. excited to see where exactly the product ends up.

I could vote 7 of 10 because it has pretty design due to the dark theme which is my preference. You could add for example an auto translate plugin for those how doesn't understand english.
reply
nice, thanks. i think that's actually one of the next things i will add - multiple languages (across the whole app, not just the landing page)
which languages do you speak?
reply
english, spanish, deutsch and italian that is all, may people could speak other languages awaiting for their replies

you could provide a vintage gif animation as the hero background, otherwise the site looks clean
reply
vintage gif animation
can you elaborate a little?
reply
for example feedback could be such as: the hero card's gradient colors make me wanna vomit.
