Yale endowment is 41 billion dollars. It's difficult to run a university with a 41 billion dollar endowment. Everyday is a struggle to make ends meet.
Hand to mouth existence for Yale students, faculty, administrators and staff
And New Haven around Yale is a dumpster. They complete sapped all the resources from that town.

It’s easy to blame Yale for the problems in New Haven.
Yale has been in New Haven since 1701. Imagine if Yale leaves New Haven for another city in CT. I don’t see things improving for New Haven residents.
Don’t blame Yale. Blame CT.
We should tax their endowments. And they should pay property tax. Universities should not be tax exempt.
Regarding New Haven, things got really bad during the 1960s. One often cited reason is white flight. But one reason for white flight was school busing or forced integration.
